IMHO, if you reside in a warm climate like TX/CA, it would only help you if you perform that thermostat mod.
I rather have my motor run a lot cooler, than hotter.
You can try the thermo mod, and if you dont like how much cooler your car runs, then put another thermo in there. Simple solution, not ghetto.
