Basically, you just have to mount the actuator diagonally so that it is parallel to the factory rod. When you remove the door panel and the plastic weather-proofing, there should be a hole in the metal where you can see the window (when the window is rolled down). I mounted the Mounting strap diagonally across this whole, which allowed it to line up with the factory rod. If this is unclear, I will try to post pictures Sunday night (I am not in town right now).
