considering it all worked fine until you hid everything, I am going to assume some wires are now shorting a circuit, ie something shook loose when it got moved around. How did you make your connections? solder, crimp, just twisting, etc? How did you insulate your connections? heatshrink, tape, etc? The more you can share, the more we can help.
