As far as rotaries go, I love the idea. There's only a couple of problems. It's a 90,000 mile engine. Then you rebuild because the apex seals are toast. They use gas like crazy. If you get one, get a 4 speed instead of a 5 speed. The 4 speed keeps the engine in the upper rpms more, which is where optimal apex sealing occurs, and they get better gas mileage.

The reason for bad gas mileage is side ports vs. peripheral ports. If you want clarification on that, email me. The new 13b-REW is a sight to behold. Now about the rotary: the last all-nissan meet I went to, I met this older gentleman with a Datsun 510 with a rotary swap. The thing was super-great. He said that the operation itself was simple.

I dont know how the trans is though... I suppose their trannies are different for the bell housing bolt-ups and whatnot...
