Are ka24de coils the same as ka24e? *ANSWERED*

Hey i searched but are ka24de ignition coils the same as ka24e? I'm pretty sure that the ignitor chips (EDIT: should read power transistor) are the same, but i wanted to know if i can use a ka24e coil on my ka24de.

thanks

EDIT here is the answer:

Two completely different things.

BoostedCoupe- Don't post if you have no clue, you're only confusing others.
allstock- There is no igniter on the KA, only a power transistor, which does not do the same thing.

The KA uses a coil for all variations, however the S13 cars use an external coil while the S14 is internal within the distributor. The SOHC and DOHC coils are indeed different in design and mounting but do interchange.

Hopefully future people will read the entire thread and get the right answer, not all the gibberish written above.
