I would do a Carfax too just to be safe. You don't want to get double-screwed at a high price like that if the car has been wrecked.

Actually, if you're in the market for a car, I would suggest getting the 24$ unlimited lookup dealy. That way you can check every car out there that you see and eliminate the shitty ones right off the bat.

I used it when I was in the market for my 240. You would be surprised how many people say it's a clean title when it's really not.
