$2000-$2400 plus shipping, probably 2500-2900 shipped..
VS
3000-4000 for turbo kit for engine not made to handle boost in the first place.
Id go for SR, personally</td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'>
Ug I am so sick of this kind of misinforamtion.
I know plenty of people with sr swaps. At an average $4500 to get the car up and running. Sure the motor alone can be around 2900 shipped (and that is cheap) but that isn't all you need. Not to mention any installation costs if you can't do it all your self.
As far as the KA not receptive to turbo. Stock KA's have made well over 300hp. Ty and Dennis come to mind. Yeah those numbers really suck. If you want to get over 300hp on an SR you need to think about a bigger turbo. Bigger turbo = more $$$ spent.
Bottom line is speed and HP cost. I can't find much appreciable cost diference in one route vs the other.
I am going to beat this $3000 400 rwhp silvia myth to death, one post at a time if I have to.
