I went to get my car inspected and was promptly turned down when the dealer said I had an exhaust leak which need fixing first.

This morning I went to get the leak fixed and found that the exhaust was cracked on both end welds of my resonator on my 3" Blitz Realize TT catback exhaust. Rather than replacing it with a straight pipe, I replaced it a hi-flow glass packed resonator. We also noticed that the exhaust had a slight crack on the weld at the monster muffler as well which was repaired.

Once we fired up the engine to check for leaks, we noticed that the car REALLY purred...and actually sounded better than before. But *I* noticed while driving was that the car actually ran a little better and idled better as well.

Can a leaky exhaust have such a LARGE affect on the car's performance?
