Test the continuity from the plug 12v to the battery.

Test the continuity from the input side connector of the ign chip to the ecu.

Test the continuity from the output side of the connector of the ign chip to the coil pack plug.

Try to isolate the resistance (if any).

Then, pull the cover off the ecu and look for deterioration from a leaking capacitor. I havent personally seen any, but i have noticed people on the forums posting pics of sr ecus with leaking capacitors and fucking lead/acid eating at the ign drivers.
I fried a couple of ecus. Just did what he described and traced it down though the system. If its not the ecu youll find it along the way.
