Well, it was a lovely day so far. I went down to the junkyard in Clarkdale. 70 miles away. Got my window for the Honda and a few other parts. Came home and fucking Bush was in Flagstaff today making a speech. I saw the lines along I-17 as everyone was trying to get into the Fairgrounds. Bunch of goddamn hippies and republicans. Anyway, I'm coming back and the whole two lanes are backed up from the fairgrounds quite a ways back. So I know all the backroads and it happens there's one road other than I-17 I can take to get home. A forest road with mud puddles and I want to rally anyway.
So I flip a bitch and head back down 17, get to my forest road (thru the no motor vehicle travel section) About 300 yards of that, and then it's regular again. So I start hill climbing in the Honda, and the carb isn't perfect yet, so that's a major chore. Get past the hill climbing part and I'm bombing through forest roads at 40 mph, and jumping dips and stuff. Really fun.
So I'm almost to the major road the forest roads connect up to (1 or 2 miles) and the car falters and all electrical goes off. HUGE plume of white smoke coming out of the hood. I'm thinking great, I killed the car.
I get stopped and open the hood and my battery is on it's side and about 3 feet of negative cable to the MSD is toasted, and the actual wire to the negative terminal broke in half. Stupid me, forgot to get a battery tie down. In spite of the fact I installed the window at the junkyard, I didn't bring any electrical shit with me. I'm in the middle of the forest with a dead car, and it's raining and blowing 25 mph wind gusts. OHHHHH FUUUUNNN! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='

'> Goddamnmuthrfkrsnbitch@#%$@#%! I think as I try to figure out what to do. The only electrical wire I have is a spare coil to dist. spark plug wire. Got the two ends, beat them around the broken negative cable with a screwdriver, and she started up and drove home! Not sure If I beat all the event traffic, but at least it's an adventure. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='

BTW: Got the Honda to 110 mph today. It was an extreme downhill, but I got it going that fast!
