Our cars are torquey because we have intake runners that V8 guys dream of.  Mustangs, and Chevy 350's have long runners too.  They are great for low end and mid-range torque.
Honda people have short, equal length runners, which only allow for fast expulsion of gasses when they rev to 8000 rpms.  They also make 240hp and 130 ft/lbs torque.  We don't rev that high, and need torque.  Our runners are a great design for a stroked engine.  Like our KA.
