Everyone knows the basic's in the body work and paint, the hard part is finding someone to teach or help you , your best bet is finding one of them old school painter guys to help you, thats what i did. see if hes willing to teach you , while you help out around the shop.
......I used old doors , fenders, ect to practice on when I first started, painters shop's are always going to be littered with used sand paper, old paint, old pannels from cars to start out on. No matter every painter is going to say somthing different to what they are use to, your just going to have to learn from someone and work with whats best for you , and how you do things. Even to this day the guy who taught me still uses a siphon fed gun from the 70's he swears that it sprays better then my sata jet gravity fed gun, its all in what works with you.
