OK u can't use a motorcycle helmet at the racetrack. u can use one at autocross, but for track events u must have a Snell
SA (special applications) rated helmet! these helmets are different due to their nomex lining and fire resistance, unlike motorcycle helmets which are cheaper and made from different materials. i got my helmet from a shop in Oakland called Bell Motorsports. the people over there are really cool, and they sell all kinds of racing gear and if you buy multiple items, they give u price breaks. so i would recommend buying from there if possible, the phone # is (510)536-2355. there are a few websites that sell helmets too, such as www.helmetcity.com which is also based in Oakland, but i went to their warehouse and they wouldnt sell me a helmet there because they said they only do online selling. theres no store front, its just a regular car repair shop but they have a storage room FULL of helmets hehe.
