Oh what the hell? I'll play.

Simply yes. Remove your clutch, transmission, drive shaft, Differential and your engine will rev free. An engine on a stand with no "DRIVE TRAIN LOSS" to worry about will rev better. Ever hear someone mention horse power at the flywheel versus horsepower at the tires? Ever wonder why there is a difference in the two numbers?

But that is just plain silly.....

If your clutch is slipping it's either because of age, or because you have too much power for the clutch disk to hold.

I think you've had your head stuck in too many fender wells.
