There's a threaded shaft that the cable is inside of and two nuts. Move the one closest to the throttle body closer to the throttle body until when that nut is pulled back against the bracket the throttle is fully taut. Now, to hold it in place, move the nut closest to the pedal down the shaft until it's tight up against the bracket. There should be no more slack on the cable.

I've read this at least 10 times and attempted to do it, but I still don't fully understand this. Ok, standing directly in front of my engine bay see is 2 steel lines. One goes to the left side, and the other goes to the right. Are these the right lines to adjust? Do I adjust it by tightening the two nuts that hold the steel lines on the right? Sorry for me mechanically illerate and challeged. I can feel that these cables have lots of slack within them. I have a 97 240 BTW. Thanks ahead for helping all of us out
