I've seen dogs go flying off the road and get a good 3-4 meters of airtime. Being in a car when a college friend run over a possum - nasty.
Which also reminds me: the neighbors across the street have a couple of aging chihuahuas that are going senile and have taken to wandering on the street at all times of the day. They don't even get scared by cars. Wouldn't be the least bit surprised if one of these days I come home and there's a chihuahua rug on my street.
