Since everyone seems to think BOV's are t3h gay and compressor surge is FTW...

Uh you do realise BOV's help reduce turbo lag by keeping the turbo spinning in one direction right? Think about it. The throttle plate closes forcing the air the turbo sucked in to go backwards through the intake system. Instead of pushing open the BOV and escaping it causes the turbo to flow backwards so it can exit. Now the turbo has to spool again.
