The only time there is a "rattle" is when I get past 7000 rpm and the shift knob starts to resonate (remember physics?). Anyway, beyond that, it's just a bit of a whirling sound...hard to describe. If you have the windows open, or the radio on, you really can't hear it. But if you're in the car with the radio off and the windows up, you girl might ask you "what's that sound?" But that's about it.
