Why would she want to get out of the military? Not trying to be an asshole. I know most of the staff at the NICU there on CP Lester.

Now, just a little military 411 for all of you.

If a service member's child is born in a military hospital, with a debilitating disease such as CP, the US govmt will cover the costs of LONG TERM medical care including any major operations and medicine FOR THE REST OF THE CHILD'S LIFE. What they will NOT cover is food and lodging (hence Lisa's request for donations).

Additionally, the parents now qualify for many state funded benefits and have access to places to stay like the Fisher house.

The parents still pay a lot out of pocket but the US govmt is covering much more of that cost.

With that being said, I have donated a bit I saved up for my turbo project to the aforementioned parents. I know what its like to have family issues come up while you serve (I'm ARMY btw). Money comes and goes folks, but some things are more important than cars, especially this time of year.
