Umm...
AR has something to do with air flow. It's like trying to blow air out 2 different straws. One is the twizzle to stir coffee and the other is the huge ass Checkers straws.
The air will fill and push out the twizzle much faster than the huge Checkers straw, but the Maximum ammount of air pushed will be much less than the checkers straw.
Kinda wierd. I think that I talked to you on AIM on some turbo project.
Anyway... a t3 with a pretty small ar powered the 3L z31. It would work well for a KA-T project at 4-5psi, but like you said... you wont have the maximum boost that a larger housing would give you, but you will have a quicker spool up time. Then you go thru with the plan of swapping housings later, and you're set.
