I back up what Dousan said. The only mention is that i drove a couple s13s and s14s and Z31 and it seems like all have the same rough (manual) transmission. I quit worrying about it when I saw it happen not only in my car (S13) but also in all the other Nissans I've ever driven. In any case, changing the transmission fluid helped A LOT, and I didn't even put Redline in it, just the regular transmission fluid from Pepboys (I forgot the name).

Buy the hand pump, don't figure that you might go around it, cause you cann't (at least not easily). Under the car is pretty tight as it is, you don't need additional hurdles.
