Yeah, I was thinking about that after I raised the question. Although, the tranny is only 1 inch from the section where it comes out in the truck, so I don't think the other shift would give me that much.
I started trying to shift with my hand low on the stick and found it's freakin' hard to reach. However, I think I can chop 4 inches off and still have decent comfort. I may just hacksaw off the top and re-thread it.
