Are you referring to a different part than me? (I was under the impression they were the same, but I could be wrong). Stuff does build up on the MAF sensor occasionally, dirt, grime, grease, especially if you have a high flow (low filter) air cleaner, or run an open intake (dumb). After I cleaned mine, the car idled much more smoothly, gained a few more km/g and pulled in the lower range just a little more (maybe not, the ass dyno is not very accurate :-) .
