This thread Here is a poll, kinda, on how much people have spent on their sr20det swaps. I think the running average is about $6000, for I don't know exactly how much horsepower. I am at about $8500 for a forged KA rebuild with turbo kit. Just add boost controller, and I should be good to 350hp or so.
Those numbers are just to show how much money a swap will cost. A $3k swap is a cheap swap.
I really am trying to walk on eggshells to post here, cuz this is a touchy subject... but I personally think that if you want torque, get a turbo/rebuild. If you want to rev and have a smooth powerband, get the swap.
