Getting an Injen intake with the CAE isn't a bad idea. During the winter it may also help to remove the extension and bring the filter into the warmer engine compartment so it isn't sucking up really cold air all day and forcing the ecu to compensate with extra fuel for the added air density. Plus it would probably warm up faster at start up. The other seasons would all greatly benefit from drawing in air not heated by the engine compartment.
