Definitely:
1. Release fuel pressure following the same procedure for injector or fuel filter removal.
2. Make sure you point that thing in the right direction.

I think:
Mount it after the fuel filter and near the fuel rail. IIRC, Greaser's old setup had it mounted on the passenger side strut tower.... from what I'm thinking (I don't know for sure), it should be able to work more efficiently with less hose to fill/ work against.
