You know there's two sensors for water temperature, right? There's a black one and the red one on the intake. The black one is for the temp gauge in your gauge cluster. The red one is for the ECU. It's probably malfunctioning, causing the ECU to think the engine is overheating, thus making it run so rich it won't even start. Test the resistance across the red sensor and make sure it's up to par with a FSM.
