The gas crunch is making the economy worse. How many of us actually pay cash for gas anymore. I don't, I swipe my debit card. Many can't afford much of anything so they pay with credit, and of course make the minimum monthly payment, which in turn adds to the funny money problem we have.
Whoever said "it doesn't add up" is absolutely right. I am familiar with how economics work and a lab monkey can see this model is jacked up. Fuel companies would not be recording record profits if their costs went up proportionately to the end user price at the pump. I call shenanigans.
