Man, I did this on a RB25DET like 2 years ago...it's been a while.
Lemme see, if I remember, the first one sounds like what the instructions that came with it said. Don't really worry about the extra travel the vacuum lines make, the difference is so minute it won't be detectable.
Do you have a stock actuator or do you have an aftermarket wastegate?
