Torque braces have been around since the '50s sucka
Solid mount torque braces are also very common in domestic applications (car and truck), and in some higher cars that don't use motorplates.
The thing I got from phase 2 forever ago is essentially a solid rod, with two rubber bushings in the middle...so essentially solid, but the little rubber guys keep it from being so.
On my car, I loved them. In the same aspect, I am a sissy with my turbo car, and hate rattles/squeaks and the sort, so this thing worked for me (mines adjusted tight as well.
I'd spend the 50 bucks or whatever they cost someplace else first, but I can't say they are junk (or at least mine isn't)
