Not having AC in the Civic sucks ass, so I decided to try something. And this is what she is. It still isnt complete and there has been a lot of trial and error in this so far. How it works? Its simple, fill the cooler with ice water and turn it on. Cold air is pulled from the heater core via the fan.
Started off as a standard 28 quart Coleman cooler. Add in a 500gph bilge pump, a heater core from a B13, a chunk of dash plastics from a B13, and 7" radiator fan, and this is what happens.
During my couple tests she does blow cold air, however, not enough. I have since sealed the heater core and fan with caulk because I realized the fan was collecting too much ambient air and not drawing directly through the heater core like it should be. I am currently waiting for the glue on the "air vent" to set so I can go do another test.
