I think your shop is nuts.
Boost and volume shouldn't be in the same sentence used to contrast eachother. Pressure x Volume = nRT.
Turbos are interchangeable.. you just need a flange that it can bolt to. We have people running Diesel truck turbos, Mitsubishi turbos, Volvo turbos, a Toyota turbo, ect.
And finally, and engine can hold as much boost as you can build it to.
So... I don't quite know what to think of the shop.. but I'd go elsewhere.
