and about the new one:

Yeah its a v-10 and should beat an inline six.....but damn its n/a.
See the problem here is two fold. First off the 348 while a decent car was a lower level Ferrari and not high in the Stable. The NSX is the pinnacle of Honda. Now this is not a fair comparo based on that. Plus beating it slightly in straightline acceleration does not make it beat the car overall in the Sports car world. Thats for drag racers. Oh and Wikipedia is the worst for true facts because half the jack asses that contribute to it don't even have all the facts.

Fact is Nissan when building the new Z did not set their eyes on the 911 but the Boxer and killed it. Fact is Nissan when building the GTR set their eyes on the GT2 and Squashed it.

Honda may have set their eyes on the 348 but the difference is they used their top of the line car.
Don't get me wrong here, The original NSX is not a bad car, in fact its a pretty nice car.
Though to just blatantly come out and say its a Ferrari killer no. To call it a Japanese Ferrari? Yes because thats what they were trying to make it. Thats a more accurate assessment.

Oh and yes trying to use a V10 to best a V6 is pretty weak in my opinion. Its really two different classes. There is a reason you do not see V10's in the same class as V6's in motor racing.
The same goes for street cars. For Honda to build a V10 car that beats the GTR and cost twice as much I would say well it better damn well because its put itself into a whole different class.
On the other hand for the GTR to cost what it cost and kick so much ass with a V6TT? Its a much more astounding technological achievement.
Much like the LFA from Toyota, Honda better have this car be crazy good, for the sake of the size of the engine and pricing? They are not that astounding or impressive,its more par for the course.
Astound me, don't charge twice the amount and give me more engine just to beat the one thats astounding everyone already. Thats no achievement, its weak sauce.
