I'm in between on #1 and #2.
I think you should get a semi nice daily, the bike and do the sr swap with minor upgrades. I'd look into a 2871r as far as a turbo.
What is your idea of a beater?? lol
But I do agree with Dog because like you said, you are mechanically inclined. Pull the KA and save the money that they would have charged to pull it and put it towards the motor or your daily.
