i used to do this all the time when i worked for a auto glass company! The only difference is we used a special very small diameter diamond drill bit and drilled through the first layer of glass. Then we did the follwing steps mentioned above! Also big note that the resin cures best with UV rays and to do it on a nice sunny day!
