A Quaife never locks, they are torque biasing differentials like S15 HLSD's. In a drift t'll constantly try to transfer power back and forth to the tire with more grip but it does not have the capability to "lock". That's why they're great for the street, because they're completely transparent where a welded or overly aggressive clutch diff will produce understeer unless you power out of it into oversteer.\
I had an ATS Deftforce and when the drift events dried up in my area I got sick of the way it made the car feel so I bought an old vlsd and now just drive the shit out of my car on the street. I can still slide a bit on the rare occasions that I both want to and can get away with it so i'm happy enough with that.
