I dont think they look bad if done correctly, I would probably go the vinyl route as there is no chance to screw them up and if the vinyl ever gets messed up you can always replace it. I havent seen a set that has a slight smoke tint to them(while still being transparent red), i think that would look good also i havent seen anyone keep the reverse lights, it seems like they always just black out the entire rear section. it would be cool to see how they would look with the reverse lights not blacked out.
