Um. For one, the government owns up to six feet of your property from the curb.
Two, that's an eye sore.
Nobody wants to see furniture littered outside the house.
He isn't living in the butt fuck of nowhere on his farm.
OBVIOUSLY for it to get to the level it did, people complained.
Why should everyone who lives in the surrounding area have to watch as their houses property value go down because some kid wants to allow people to set their furniture outside.
Kid deserves what he got.
