Selecting a thermostat has nothing to do with how modded your engine is. It has to do with your engine's operating temperature.

You use the thermostat to shut off coolant flow, then when you're up to temp, you open the coolant passages and let the car cool itself.


You have to figure out your engine's ideal operating temperature. You can find this out by speaking to your engine builder, or run without a thermostat temporarily to see what temp your coolant stabilises at.

Then select a thermostat that opens slightly below that temp.
