What? SR motor and tranny swap into a 240, right? So then why are you worrying about a KA tranny not having a housing?
I'm not understanding...
But no, it's not ok to go dustcover-less. The tranny hangs below the engine, and will turn into a scoop, and suck all sorts of crap up, and get into the clutch/flywheel, and cause damage.
