Hey! Mine is goofed up also. What I did was to bend the inner latch (the one that pulls down) just enough so It barely latches, but you can touch the opposite side of the lid and it will swing open. It will not open during even radical driving. I will look into mine and see if it can be fixed properly today. A can of WD40 and some bending of the latch mechanism should do the trick.
