That's what I see German tourists (and one of my strange uncles) wear the most,
along with red socks, and ugly 80's style jeans that are a few sizes too small.
With regards to the converse, I agree with the OP.
Not a fan of the way they look or how they feel.
I just wear ugly loafers as I'm too lazy to deal with shoe-laces.
