Never complete. If a fuse was blown, it would trigger the check engine light on under two-trip logic (or one trip if it was something like the O2 sensor).
As far as go away, they don't complete at all. I guess I'm driving the wrong way to not trigger the monitors to run. I've been running the car with 3/4 tank of fuel and no less than 1/4 tank (I know that Toyotas need that to run the EVAP monitor).
