Let me say it again:

If your clutch is not adjusted properly, it will not disengage enough, which causes grinding. Check that first before you spend more money on fluids/synchros/shifters/etc. Oh, and a short shifter will not make grinding go away...in fact, it'll make it worse. By installing a short shifter, and shifting faster, you are asking your synchros to work FASTER. If they are sorta crappy to begin with, this will only exacerbate the problem.
