Any car will drive poorly in snow with the wrong tires, get snow tires and LSD. Make sure you don't jump on the first car you look at. If you don't know enough to pick out the right car yourself, don't hesitate to take it to someone who will look it over for you. Just be careful, buying used cars is a big risk if you don't know what you are looking for. Get a car with no previous accidents (carfax wont be enough, get that biatch on a lift and look at the frame). There, that's my standard reply to this sort of question.
