agreed.
personally I'm more inclined to say the organizers are more at fault.
as organizers, you just have to do your best to anticipate and minimize accidents like this.
100 meters from the finish line isn't exactly safe.
any car could have spun out of control (drift or not) and hit onlookers.

Of all the track events I've been to, never have I seen spectators so close to the track, esp without a barrier.
