Asking for sponsorship Isn't asking for discounts and free stuff in exchange for wearing a hat and putting a sticker on your car. It is a business proposition between you and a company. You have to offer them something they value in order to get something from them.
If they can print an ad in a magazine that costs them a couple hundred bucks and will reach more people than a sticker on your car, why would they even bother giving you a discount on parts?
You have to be able to show them that you are making it into magazines, you are wining competitions, you are all over the internet, whatever it takes to convince them that making no profit or even losing money on an item they give you or sell to you at a discount will make them enough money to be worth it for them.
People want the parts winners have, not average Joe drifter who's just starting out. I don't care what parts your running on your car...but say dousan is winning with his parts, so they must be good. I want to win so I'll run what dousan has
You'll need an automotive resume of some sort...can't get that w/out some money and talent to start.
