haha. dam. yea, yo ucan drop in any motor you want. all it takes is money. LoL. drop in a v12 ferari engine.

but seriously, i just answered a simliar question from another newbie who refuses to search or stay on the forum long enough to learn. you guys who are posting repeated questions are just waisting bandwich. arg..

here you go, i just copied and pasted my old response. its kinda detailed, but use the serach next time.

you are going to game FLAMED for asking this question. just wait till dousan, mrmephisto, ruf, or some other members see this thread. they ask you to do a simple search. (where's the big red search pic when you need it. lol.)

anyways, the rb20 is not THAT much cooler than you make it out to be. the only thing i like about the rb20 is that it has 2 extra cylinders. it still has the same displacement as an sr but the 2 extra cylinders give it the ability to make more hp with proper upgrades and run safer longer. in my book, about 400hp is all i will tune a 4 cylinder car to make. of course you can make more than that, but i want it to last more than say 20,000 miles without blowing or wearing down the motor. putting too much strain on a motor will shorten its life. with a 6cylinder, you can probably safely push out 600+hp and make it last for a while. of course, there are 6 cylinders out there running 1000+ hp for drag applications so the potential is there. the most i've seen a 4cylinder car make is ~800hp. (examples: the jun s14, and theres also stephan papadaka's h22 powered drag civic. but those cars blow motors, trannies, axles, cuz of the stress.)

how much for a redtop or blacktop front clip really depends on who you buy it from. if you buy it from ebay, maybe $1500 for a front clip, but it'll be missing almost everything you need. dont buy from ebay. there are lots of scandelous ppl out there using stolen pics and they'll be off with your money as soon as you pay them. its worth it to buy from a reputable dealer such as phase2 or unstable hybrids. again, do your homework and shop around. a better questino you should have ask on this thread was 'who is more reputable cause im thinking about buying a clip soon'

true, it is easier to drop in an sr than getting custom parts from all over to drop an rb in. you will still need to replace the clutch fan or run aftermakret electric fans for an sr swap, but you can use the same driveshaft.

seriously, 5hp doesn't make the RB more COOL. in racing sports, 5hp doesn't make a dam difference, it'll be more on driver. if it was say, at least 30hp difference, then it can be weighed in as a deciding factor. s14/s15 blacktops do have more hp from the factory than redtops because they have bigger ball bearing turbos and vvtc. s13 blacktops and redtops have highport heads for better airflow. it is probably easier to and less expensive to tune s13 srs because of the high port heads, but if vvtc is something you really want, there are ways to get lots of hp from s14/s15 blacktops also.

in the USofA, RB parts are harder to find. true. but most sr parts have to be imported as well. they are just in stock more now, since the trend. SRs have t25 and t28 w/ full ball bearing turbos depending on year. you really have to search this. i dont know about rb20, but i think it has a t25 stock turbo as well since most stock turbos are t25s or around there. you probably want to upgrade to make lots of hp, since there is a limit on stock turbo effieciently and how much air they can produce.

DAM, i wasn't planning to answer all your questions, but i did. now search for the rest. im still waiting for the flames to come in. lol.
