I've never seen a keyboard without a windows key, and that more than likely would not be an issue anyways.
Well I'm a tech and I've encountered it in the field. Go look at Toshiba notebooks...if its not missing the windows key they hide it way at the f'n top right corner.

I just got done working on two Acers for a client, not impressed with their quality. One she owned for a year and the built in graphics card took a crap and the other she bought recently had dead keys, we sent that one back since it was still under warranty. They both felt cheap.

Dell just uses very cheap materials and most common problem I've had recently is with their Batteries and AC adapters crapping out.

And what I'm suggesting to the OP is to stay away from Vista.

Also Macs are nice, but Apple is really good with their marketing and has strict control over their distribution so you'll pay a premium. Deals aren't as easy to get.
