Before considering what will give you "more bang for the buck" or more horsepower you have to think "hassle". Which will be less of a hassle? SR or KA-T. Definitely KA-T. Remember SR can not be smogged. The only way to do it is scandalous and you have to find the right person that will do it. Theyre cracking down on a lot of smog stations for that in California at least. I cant speak for other states though. Remember parts for a KA engine are more available than an SR. You can find SR parts here but some places may not have it in stock and it may take a while to order it. So one minute youre driving. Next thing you know, youre starters gone. Youre car is sitting in the garage for a freakin week just waiting on the starter which takes a half hour to install. Whereas youre KA starter goes out and you have it changed same day due to the greater availability of stock parts. I have done research on this because at one point i was planning to go KA-T, but now its all about the SR. It was a good decision for me to say the least.
